Week 7 Hello, everybody! This week is about autonomy and about one computer classroom. What can we say about the autonomy of students? The autonomy of students can be used in five ways: 1) we should give situations in which learners study entirely on their own; 2) we should identify a set of skills which can be learned and applied in self-directed learning; 3) we should pay close attention to an inborn capacity of students; 4) we should exercise learners' responsibility for their own learning; 5) we should give learners the right to determine the direction of their own learning. If we want our learners to be autonomous we should use cognitive strategies, meta-cognitive strategies, raise self-esteem of students. What about one computer classroom ? We were given a lot of strategies to use in one computer classroom. They are the following: 1.Use the computer as a teacher’s tool; 2.Use the computer as a multi-media chalk board or flip chart; 3.Students use the computer as a tool for individual work and as part of a larger group or class project; 4.Use the computer as learning center or station 5.Use the computer as cooperative learning tool 6.Students use the computer to do individual work for practice or assessment They will help me in my teaching. I like 25 ways to integrate the internet. They are very useful and efficient to involve our students in their autonomous learning, to motivate them, and to have results we want to have. Creating a Computer Lab/Learning Center is an excellent idea for teaching English with technology. Have a good weekend!

  1. Hi, Svetlana

How's your seventh week of the course?

This week's discussion theme, Learner Autonomy.is what I really think is the best way for students to learn English.

I firmly believe that successful foreign language learning in smart era starts from students in their self-directedness.

Teacher’s main role should be organizing and
integrating between curriculum objectives and students’ desire using smart device.

Therefore I think learner autonomy is the key to successful foreign language learning.

This is what I learned this week.

Good luck with your final report.=)

    Thank you.
